Floral Layout Inspiration | Kathleen Graumüller

Hey there, it’s Kathleen here again and I’m excited to share my second project as a guest on the Studio Forty blog with you! I worked with the beautiful Daydream collection again but this time I decided to create a layout with it.

By the way, in case you missed it, hop on over here to see the mini album I made with the Daydream collection.

This layout is actually a very simple one that doesn’t take a lot of time to put together. The only thing that does take a little bit of time is fussy cutting all of the flowers and leaves from the "In the Garden“ and “Foliage“ papers.
I matted my photo on the “Sunshine" paper and used the other side (“Just Painted“) on the lower half of my layout. The colors of the two papers matched those in my photo perfectly and I like how they both look as if they had been watercolored by hand.

If you have a look at the placement of the floral clusters, you will see that I arranged them to form a visual triangle. This helps to focus the viewer’s attention and draw their eyes towards the photo that is placed inside this visual triangle.
This certainly isn’t a rule that you have to follow on all of your pages, but it definitely helps when creating a layout.

Below the lower floral cluster I also added my handwritten journaling, as well as another one of the phrase stickers. Although I’m not the biggest fan of my handwriting, I try to urge myself to add more of it on my layouts. It adds such a personal touch to a page, don’t you think?
For a few more details and embellishments I also used the “You got this“ stamp set and the Daydream transparent stickers. I like the pops of black between the soft colors!

Well, that’s it from me for today. I hope you enjoyed my two projects with the Studio Forty “Daydream“ collection! Thanks a lot for stopping by and also a big thank you to Monika for inviting me! :)

Xo, Kathleen
