Life is Nothing Without Friendship | Jen McMurtrey
Hello Studio Forty friends!
It's Jen today with a fun mixed media layout using the
Everyday Story collection. Recently, I was able to spend a weekend crafting with a group of friends after not seeing one another for two years. While out shopping one day, we came across this adorable flower stand. Naturally, we had to buy flowers and take pictures!
To begin the project, I smooshed and splattered watered down Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide Ink onto white mixed media paper. Once that was dry, I stamped "good time" and "love this" using the same ink and the
Love This Time stamp set.
The title was next and I created this using the
04 scrapbook paper and my Silhouette Cameo.
For a bit more texture, I used a floral die with white cardstock from my stash and fussy cut the embroidery hoop from a
journaling card. These were added on the left of the photo.
Last, I added clear Nuvo drops in clusters around the photo and title. They add the perfect finishing touch to the project.
Here's one last look at the project. I love the bright ink with the subtle tones of the patterned papers.
Next up is a card I created with scraps of patterned papers left over from my layout and Rustic Wilderness Distress Oxide Ink.
For the base of the card, I created a green splattered background with oxide ink. Next, I layered strips of patterned papers along with solid green and white cardstock.
After adding white twine around the strips of paper, I added floral die cuts that were left over from a previous project (I keep all of my scraps for this very reason).
For the sentiment, I used a circle punch on a
journaling card with a larger patterned paper circle behind it. Again, these are all scraps of paper left over from the above project.
Thank you for visiting today, and I hope you've been inspired to create.
