Sweet Girl | Jen McMurtrey
Hello friends! It's Jen today with a sweet layout and card using the beautiful Herbarium Collection. The subtle colors and beautiful prints are some of my favorites, and I plan to use every bit of it.
First, is a 12x12 layout featuring our sweet dog Mildred Mae. I love taking pictures of her when she's sleeping because she always looks so cute. This time was no exception.
To begin, I selected two pieces of the Herbarium - 05 scrapbook paper to use as the background. I tore the paper where each color meets and then distressed the edges. Next, I layed the torn pieces on top of the identical patterned paper to create the dimensional effect. After gluing each piece, I splattered ink on the entire background.
To create the title, I used the Herbarium - 03 scrapbook paper and cut the words out using my Silhouette Cameo.
Creating the embellishment clusters around the photos was my favorite, and I used a bit of everything to do so. First, I fussy cut floral wreaths from two 3x4 pocket scrapbooking cards and placed them behind the small photo. For the remainder of the cluster I pulled elements from the light chipboard album, dried flora light chipboard elements, paper die cut elements, chipboard stickers, and Journal It - color stickers.
Last, I added clear Nuvo enamel drops around the photo and title to add more texture. I love how this project turned out!
When I was cutting the title for the previous project, I also cut the word Hello to use on a card. Since I am getting near to using all of my Herbarium embellishments, I fussy cut florals to use instead.
The card background uses a single piece of 6x6 Herbarium patterned paper cut into strips and machine stitched to the card base.
When adding embellishments, I used two chipboard stickers and the fussy cut florals. Last, I glued the Hello sentiment in place.
