Autumn Splendor | Jen McMurtrey
Hello Studio Forty friends! It's Jen today with my final project as a member of the Studio Forty design team using my all-time favorite collection...Herbarium.
Before I begin, let's take a look at the Herbarium products I selected when working on the following layout and card.
- Patterned Papers 01, 02, 03, 04, 06, and 07
- So Inspired Stamp Set #146
- Chipboard Stickers Set
- Frames - Chipboard Stickers
- Chipboard Album
- Die Cuts
First up is a 12 x 12-inch layout featuring photos I took in our backyard a few years ago.
To create this layout, I first tore strips of patterned paper and adhered them to the background. Next, I used the Tim Holtz Wildflower #2 metal dies to cut out several flowers using more patterned paper.
I love the vellum patterned paper from this collection and used it with Simon Hurley Dye Ink and Elle's Studio stamps and dies to create the title.
Next, I added the die cut flowers behind the top and bottom of the photos. I then stamped images directly on the background as well as a few that I fussy cut. These were placed in a visual triangle on the layout. Last, I added a die cut with a sticker sentiment to the bottom photo.
Next is the card I made using leftovers from the previous layout.
To begin, I sprayed gold paint to the chipboard album piece. Next, I gathered three of the die cut flowers, placed them in a bouquet, and tied them together with a piece of scrap paper and twine.
Next, I fussy cut the butterfly and moth from the 06 patterned paper and adhered them with foam tape. To finish the card, I added enamel dots from my stash.
Thank you for stopping by today! Whether you have the Herbarium collection or plan to purchase it, there are so many beautful projects you can create, which is why it's my favorite. Remember to use code JENNIFER10 at checkout to receive 10% off your order.
