Vitamin Sea | Jen McMurtrey

12x12 scrapbook layout

Hello Studio Forty friends! It's Jen today with a layout and a card created with more of the Here & There collection that I absolutely love. As summer begins to wind down, I wanted to document a recent trip we took to the Oregon coast, and this collection works perfectly for doing so.

This layout came together quickly and easily using only a few scraps of patterned paper along with embellishments. To begin, I used the All Time Fave Stamp to stamp the "Time Together" sentiment on white cardstock using distress oxide ink. Next, I added the torn patterned papers along the bottom using Scrapbook Paper - 03.

Next, I backed my photo with more patterned paper scraps and a glassine bag. After wrapping twine around the photo several times, I added two fussy cut shapes from a journaling card, a die cut, chipboard sticker, and Best Summer Color Sticker.
Here is a closer look at the embellishment cluster.
To complete the layout, I added a title with Thickers and followed that with Go Outside Transparent Stickers and hand-written journaling.

After completing the layout, I continued the same theme and used the same scraps of paper to create a quick card. It mirrors the layout almost exactly and has a stamped sentiment from the Hello Beautiful stamp set.
I love that I was able to use the travel-themed collection to create this cute card.

New Puppy | Jen McMurtrey

Jennifer McMurtrey

Hello Studio Forty friends! It's Jen today with two new projects in my travelers notebook using the Here and There Collection.

Let's take a look...

Last week, my son and daugher-in-law got a new puppy and brought him by our house for a visit. Naturally, I had to take as many photos of baby Hubert as possible. Throughout these TN pages, I paired papers and elements from the Here and There collection with some of my favorite dies from
A Pocket Full of Happiness.

On the left, I stamped several sentiments wtih the All Time Fave Stamp on a patterened paper from the Notebook Edition Pad before adding die cut hearts made with Scrapbook Paper 02.
On the right, I used the same Scrapbook Paper 02 with another die.
On the next spread, I again paired metal dies with elements from Here and There. These layouts were quick to create, which was my goal. I like to keep TN projects simple so the books don't become too big.
In addition to the die cut background on the left, I added another stamped sentiment from the All Time Fave Stamp.
On the right, I added the Love die cut using Scrapbook Paper 01 and another patterned paper from the notebook pad.
For a bit of color, I splattered ink onto the pages as well.
Thank you for stopping by today...remember to visit the Studio Forty shop to grab what's left of the Here and There collection while it is still available. Remember to use code JENNIFER10 at checkout to receive 10% off your order.
Have a great day!

Girls' Weekend | Jen McMurtrey

12x12 scrapbook layout

Hello friends! It's Jen with two more projects using the bright, fun Here & There collection.

First is a layout that documents a recent weekend with my crafty friends. We always have the best time when we are together despite it not being as often as we wish.

To begin, I used a cut file from Paper Issues to create a large title that is backed with several patterned papers from Here & There.

After backing the cut file, I adhered it to white cardstock that has distress oxide ink (bundled sage) smooshed and splattered on it.

Just below the cut file, I added the photo and began to embellish the project. Since the cut file is the "statement piece" of the layout, I opted for minimal embellishments using chipboard stickers, Best Summer color stickers, and So Inspired stamp set.

Last, I added journaling to the left of the photo.

Next, is a card created using patterned paper and die cuts from Here & There.

First, I used green cardstock as the base for the card to which I adhered the patterned paper. Next, I used a doily and thread from my stash along with die cuts and 3D stickers. This simple card came together in 30 minutes, which is perfect for those of us with busy schedules that leave little time to create.

Thank you for stopping by today! I hope you've been inspired to continue creating with the fabulous Here & There collection. If you haven't picked this one up yet, be sure to visit the Studio Forty shop today. Remember to use code JENNIFER10 at checkout to receive 10% off your order!

Shine and bright/ Summer layouts |Yukie Bessho

Dear Studio Forty fans

Hello!  Summer is here, crafters in Northern Hemisphere!
I have created two 12x12 layouts with Studio Forty's latest collection: Here and There today to share with you!

The first one,  I have picked  lilac color for the base of the layout.

Applied some mediums. This time, Gel medium, and modeling paste with mixed media stencils.
I drew some circles with white marker pen.

Maybe you can see it better how the gel medium is applied with this photo.

Used some chipboard stickers and enamels.

The gorgeous bulb stamps I have hanged on the layouts.
Whapped the bulbs with codes and stamped the hanging thread too.
Journaling done with brown pen. I have spattered white acrylic paint all over. The anchor and rudder stamps on the bottom.

The photos were taken in Chiba/Japan. Where my parents has their beach house.
At sandy beach, kids make dumplings with sands here. She was making many of them and serving with wood piece she picked at the beach to us.

Second layout is here.
I have photos of our dog: Nagi.

I have applied some modeling paste, water color, stamps, circle stickers, transparent stickers, and enamels.
Circle stickers are the must haves. I hope Study Forty will produce them in every collection!

Water coloring I have used the technique of Japanese calligraphy  and it looks quite successful!

I love this photo of our Nagi chasing her ball.

Thank you for staying with me till the end.
I hope you liked the layouts just as much as I do.

See you next time!

Summer Days | Jen McMurtrey

Jennifer McMurtrey

Hello Studio Forty Friends! It's Jen today with two spreads in my travelers notebook that document two of my recent summer activities using the Here & There collection. When I put these together, I was out of town and had only a few supplies and the collection of papers and embellishments with me. It was fun to create using only the basics and getting back to crafting old school.

First up is this spread that documents our visit to a new public market near our hometown. Since I had limited supplies, the layout is very simple.

When putting this story together, I used the Notebook Edition paper pad as the base for each page. On the left, I cut the 3x4-inch card from the 06 Patterned Paper and added hand-written journaling along with a chipboard sticker and die cut.

On the right side, I backed the photo with patterned paper from the paper pad and added chipboard stars and a transparent sticker.

The second spread features a photo of my recently-cleaned craft room, which took me a couple of weeks to complete. I had to be sure to take a photo before it's messed up again (I'm sure you can relate).

These two pages again use the Notebook Edition paper pad and minimal embellishments. The photo was printed in 4x6 format, backed with 04 Patterned Paper, and adhered across both pages. Along the top of the photo is a fussy cut element from the Journaling Cards that I stamped with the All Time Fave Stamp Set.

The right side features flowers that I fussy cut from patterned paper and embellished with a chipboard sticker and Best Summer Color Sticker. To complete the page, I added journaling below the photo.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. While today's projects are quite simple in nature, I hope you've been inspired to bust out those supplies and create. If you feel like shopping, remember to use code JENNIFER 10 at checkout to receive 10% off your order.
