Jennifer McMurtrey
Hello friends! It's Jen today with two new projects using the gorgeous Herbarium Collection.
My son got married in a simple civil cermony two days ago, and I HAD to document this momentous event right away. Let's take a look at the 12 x 12 layout.
I decided to keep this one simple in order to focus on the photo. First, I used my Silhouette Cameo to create the
title and placed it in the lower right corner of the
patterned paper. Next, I used the Moments Stamp Set to added the floral elements around each letter in the title.
The photo was placed over the title using foam squares. To give it more dimension, I wrapped twine around the picture and glued one of the
Dried Flora Chipboard Element to it.
I love this photo of them and this project documents the day perfectly!
After completing the layout, I made a lovely card to match.
To create the background of the card, I cut one of the rectangle
Light Chipboard pieces to fit the card base. Using the same green ink from the layout, I inked an acrylic block, sprayed it with water, and dipped the chipboard in the ink. I love how it looks.
To complete the card, I adhered a
chipboard frame over the ink and added a
floral die cut with the stamped banner die cut. The card really turned out beautifully!
The Herbarium Collection is absolutely stunning and can be used for any type of project. If you haven't already purchased it, I encourage you to do so while it is still available because it is truly lovely.
Thank you so much for stopping by today.

Hello and welcome to a new blog post. Today I'm going to show you a new layout in my 6x8 album from my son. The recordings were made at home in our garden. Here we enjoy our free time and spend time with the family.
I chose one of the papers from the LAZY DAYS series and cut out many of the small surfboards and skazeboards by hand. I glued this on the lower edge with an adhesive roller and adhesive plate. I just cut off the protruding corners.
With my printer at home I printed out different pictures in different sizes and deposited them with one of the papers.
For decoration I used different stickers from the series and created clusters with them.
Finally, I embroidered the edges by hand.
As a cover for the summer I punched out letters with an alphabet punch board and glued them to a white cardstock. I then glued the whole thing onto tracing paper. Now all sides just don't have to be punched. And done.
I hope you enjoyed my little inspiration.
See you soon and stay healthy.
clear stamps
Hello everybody.
lazy days - that would be good for me. Just let your mind wander, do nothing, enjoy the sun, spend time with my family.
But unfortunately this is not going to happen at the moment, my head is all the way up and my vacation in the summer is unfortunately shorter than planned.
But I can at least indulge a little in memories with the new and wonderful LAZY DAYS series.
Last summer we spent a day at Filzeich, rented a beach chair, enjoyed the sun and also paddled a little.
And the colors of the series go perfectly with the photo and especially the motifs, beach bags, slippers, beach towels and much more.
I stamped the frame for the layout with many small stamps from the stamp plates of the series. And I love to work with black stamp ink on summery layouts. I hope I could give you a little inspiration and I'm already looking forward to the next post.
See you soon and enjoy the sun and the first days of summer.
Journal Stories
Hello and happy Friday.
After almost 3 weeks I sat at the scraptable again for the last two days, although not as long as I wanted. But since my corona infection and the illness, unfortunately, everything is no longer the same as it was before. Everything goes slower, takes longer and everything is quite exhausting. But it also helps me to focus again. and it was fun to see something else, besides my duvet and the couch.
For today's project I used the new series JOURNAL STORIES. There are many different products. Among other things, the Notebook Set 2, which also includes a travel journal. Since it is well known that traveling has not been possible for almost a year, I simply misused it for my purposes and used the journal to document a completely normal weekend.
So today I'm going to show you my first 4 double pages of the small album. I also ordered the papers from the collection, they are the perfect size for the journals and can be glued in right away if you want.
I picked out several papers and then cut out various tags and words to use in my album.
I punched out butterflies and hearts with various dies from my collection. I then used this in the pages.
Last but not least, I have a "special" photo for this project with my photo model. At the moment he hardly leaves my side, even while I was sick he stayed in bed with me.
And so it was this morning when I took the pictures for today's blog post, he just lay down next to me on the couch and stayed there the whole time and even fell asleep.
Now I wish you a nice sunny weekend and please stay healthy.
See you soon. Sonja
Don't grow up
Good morning and have a nice Tuesday.
Today I, Sonja, can introduce you to my latest project with one of the two new collections. And actually I only planned to use the colorful, fresh series LETS PARTY. But when I got a couple of new punches in my hands, I decided on the DONT GROW UP series.
Today I have a double-page spread for you from this year's Project Life album. I have scrapped a few pictures from a nice first spring walk. Even if the weather is currently anything but spring-like and for the whole of next week there are even more snowfalls announced, and I'm so ready for spring, sun and some warmth.
first I designed the background for the layout. For this I used a stencil and a light structure paste and a few splashes of paint on top.
I then punched out a few objects with the punches. For this I only used 3 papers that are also similar in color.
The journaling cards on the right-hand side are all designed again and some of them are still hand-embroidered.
I hope you enjoyed my inspiration for today.
Have a good time and stay healthy.

Hello and welcome to a new blog post.
It's kind of crazy how time flies by. Because it's actually March again. The new year has already had two eventful months behind it. and we. can already enjoy the first warm days of spring. Even if it should get colder again this weekend and winter is coming back.
Nevertheless, Easter is already in just 6 weeks and that's why today I have a layout that is very slightly based on the Easter theme.
I used some of the papers from the DON'T GROW UP collection. In addition, I added a few more elements with a few punches. This gives the layout a certain structure and the journaling cards immediately have their own background. and I also think it's good when certain elements repeat or recur.
What I like most about the new collection are the papers with the animals. They are so magical. I decided to cut out the individual elements and then stick them on the circles.
At the very end I embroidered something. I used white embroidery thread. I like the effect so much.
I hope you enjoyed my little inspiration. I wish you a good time and stay healthy.

cozy time
Hello and welcome to our latest inspiration with one the the current beautiful collections.
For this time I decided to use the COZY TIME collection. Why? So easy, I love all these beautiful fall colours.
I wanted to create a memory of one of the rainy October days, and I could not choose only one picture.
On the other side I wanted a lot of white space. So I created a 9x12 layout for the left page and a 6x12 pocket page for the right page.
Let's start.
I made with the dotted paper of the collection a frame and did use my scissor to cut out these lovely trees.
And even I could not stop to use them I made also the the journal cards with the little trees.
For the pocket pages I used three papers, the light green dotted paper and the colorful striped paper and last but not least only white cardstock.
Finally I printed my story with my printer on grid paper.
Do you like the clean style or do you prefer using more embellishments and less white places?
I hope I could give you a new inspiration.
Stay healthy and see you next time.

cozy time
Hello everyone, today I am back with my first two layouts and the two new collections.
COZY TIME and NORDICA. I already like both of them very much, the colors are so muted, unobtrusive, according to my taste.
First I show you my layout with cozy time. this collection is really great for all memories in the next days and weeks.
I grabbed the sheet of cardstock with the journaling cards and started to cut out a lot of decorative pieces.
I punched the title with a few letter punches and the pink cardstock. A layout doesn't need much more than that, or what do you think?
The second layout was actually made with two pictures from this spring, it was still hat time. We love our hats and I'm already looking forward to the clear, cold days and walks and our hats.
I really like the paper with the individual letters, which is how I designed my title.
But I like one of the new stamp sets from the nordica series even more. Aren’t the footprints and the rabbit cute? I think I will put it on paper more often in the next few weeks and months.
I am really excited to see what you will do with the new collections and we'll see you again soon. stay healthy and see you soon.
