December Daily® / Foundation Pages | Jana B
Hello everyone,
it is Jana here!
The festive season is here so is my December Daily® album. This year is going to be my fourth. This kind of album is my most favourite. I love everything about it! It is difficult to find every year something new to take a picture of, some new story, but this season is so busy and so full of special moments that in the end it is very easy to document. As for the materials, there is always loads of it and I usually struggle to choose the right one. But not this year. This year it is going to be the beautiful collection ‘Just Chilling’!
In this blog
post I will show you a few pages that I have prepared. I usually do a few very
basics such as the cover and a few inside pages. Mainly I make fun
embellishments and things I know I won’t have time to be making during the
December everyday creative process.
The size of my
albums is 5 x 6 inches. Which as bizarrely as it sounds is actually great for
pictures 4 x 6 inches as it means you get some space for your story and
embellishments. The cover is made of cardboard and wrapped in paper. This time
I wanted to add some stitching and I love Norwegian sweater designs! Hence the
star!
It is so easy to
make a pocket from big paper – cut a 5 x 12 inch strip and fold it in half.
Then you just need to cut the folded bit diagonally to create the pocket and
glue it on the sides. Now it is ready for some tags or pictures.
I love vellum in
mini albums! I used my white marker and traced the beautiful houses from one
patterned paper.
And because the
houses are so cute, I glued a few of them in a row on the vellum, added some
stitching, some brilliant paper chipboard and voilà...
Here is another
example of white marker and vellum, this time with a snowflake pattern. Easy to
do without tracing. And a chipboard title.
Envelopes! For
me they are a must have in mini albums. They can take in so many pictures or
hide letters for Father Christmas!
Last year I
tried to cut out a title on the side of a paper. So I had to do it this year as
well. And seriously, I hope it is going to snow!
At last I would
like to show you my Fuse tool attempts. Who doesn’t love shakers?! They are so
Christmas-y! So I made one from a photo sleeve 4x4 by cutting out a circle in
the paper and then, using the metal die, I made a circle with my Fuse tool and
filled it with sequins.
This next
attempt was a bit of a high level effort! I decided to have a number shaker! So
first I drew the number on paper, traced it on a foil sleeve and …. used my
Fuse tool. The worst bit was to get the sequins inside which I tried during the
fusing but it can get a bit bulky so one needs to be extra careful not to make
a hole.
And now, bring
it on! Advent time can start, I am ready!
