Traveler’s notebook “Polar stories”| Emanuela Cartincantevole

3D dots
Hi guys! We didn't go to the mountains this year, but we had some great days last year. There was a lot of snow and my daughter Adele had a great time. I used a photo taken last year to make a page in my traveler's notebook.

I did it following a sketch I designed myself. I mainly used the Nordica collection with some elements of Vintage Glow. I favoured the soft but at the same time cool shades of both collections to recall the Tn theme.

On the left page I placed two triangular cut-outs from sheet no. 05 of Nordica; I cut out the letters to form the word "You" from sheet no. 03 and the word "polar stories" from sheet no. 06 to do some journaling. On the top left is a floral motif cut out from sheet no. 06 which also appears on the other page.

On the right-hand side I gave centrality to the photo superimposed on various inserts (Nordica sheet no. 06 and Vintage Glow sheet no. 01) and a large tag (Nordica sheet no. 05). Stickers and stamps as journaling.

Here are the products used in detail:

Bye bye, Emanuela

Winter mini album | Piruletasdepapel

cards

Hello everyone and happy Friday!! How are you? It's Nuria on the S40 blog today, Fridays are my fave day of the week! Weekend is about to start and time and plans are waiting for us! Today I show you a mini album! Hope you get inspired and create a similar project during the weekend!

I like to start deciding the cover. In that case, it's a simple and romantic cover, using a combination of the following patterned papers: Berries and White. I use a rubber band, some charms and lace loops as a closure.

Then, it's time to choose a pice of cardboard. I like to make the most of the material, so I decide the size of the mini album according to the leftover pieces of cardboard I have had from previous projects. This mini album is 11x12,5cm.

The structure is made with two A4 white card paper. The spine of the outer page is 3 cm and 2cm for the inner one. I fold the pages according to the structures I want to create.

There is a 3rd page done with a piece of white card, folded in half and sewed to the previous page by the spine. This 3rd page is a centimeter smaller to create a cascading effect.

This pages are the reverse of the polar stories page, I like to spread the elements composing in two pages, and not just one page, I think it gives harmony to the album. I decide to create these pages in a warmer tones than the rest of the mini album. I use 'Bits and pieces' and 'Wood' patterned paper. Some die cuts and chipboards finalise the decoration.

Don't get limited by the size of the white card paper. You can create tabs at the end of the card paper and stick another element. In this case, I created a pocket with an horizontal opening.

The pocket contains a piece of card paper folded in four parts, the two end parts are flaps to pull. I decorated the flaps with 'Berry' patterned paper. The inside is decorated with 'Cards' patterned paper and the journaling card 'Winter Wonderland'.

I have used different Studio Forty collections for this mini album: Vintage Glow, Together, Nordica, Frosty Seasons and Joyful collections are most of it. I love to mix them all, playing with similar tones and/or making contrast with them.

In these pages I have created decorative elements with patterned paper and chipboard frames. Also, I stamped the word Joy in a label frame and completed the decoration with cut out elements from different materials.

And we come to the last page of the album, very sweet and soft, using the Nordica collection and contrasting with red elements that coordinate both pages.

Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely weekend! Let us know if you create a similar album!

A winter stroll can inspire a project | Piruletasdepapel

clear stamps
Hello everyone! How are you? Sometimes you may run out of ideas on what to document, specially when referring to daily routines. But a winter stroll on the weekend in the city can inspire a project! It's Nuria here today, let's see some ideas!

When strolling, look up! Yes, this is my very first tip! ;) You will discover a whole world waiting for you and your camera click!

Express feelings with colours and textures:
Colours of the photos help you choose the papers you are going to use. The pinkish building reminds me of Vintage Glow Pink patterned paper, don't you think? Some background splashes with watercolour, dots and 'memories' stamped. I complete the composition with a Lovely word stamped on a Card (containing journaling inside).

Or the pic at the café, so cozy, so warm in a cold winter day... you can even smell the aroma of coffee... let's use the Vintage Glow Wood paper!

Textures are a must for me. Although my style is usually minimalistic, I like to create a comfy feeling with textures. In this case, I use two handmade crochet circles, the teared Chilly paper, the white thread, the chipboard... Completing the composition with these beautiful pink hearts and the sentence 'you make life sweet'.

I use a Vintage Glow Journey Notebook to create these pages. My journaling is brief and usually I hide it. But you can show it, if preferred. Final touch with transparent stickers on the photo and on Chilly paper.

Remember: it doesn't have to be amazing! Daily routines seem tedious but indeed they are gorgeous themselves to be documented: simple and repetitive. You will appreciate it even more when time goes by, as you will be able to compare with the routines you will have then. Enjoy the day!

Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely week! If you visit Studio Forty shop website, you will get 10% off with the code nuria10! ;)

Thursday with stamps and pocket page | Mirka

clear stamps
Hello dear S40 friends, Mirka here :)

I greet you all very much and wish you a happy new year and all the best. Today I have a pocket page for you. Thursday belongs to stamps and I prepared a pocket page with hide and seek and lots of stamps.

I used project life cards from this paper for the page. I love how it has soft colors and matches all the photos. I stamped a lot of labels with these stamps and then cut them out. I stamped different phrases on the labels.

I like hiding and opening pockets. I cut this card along the tree line and made it as a flap. The whole photo is hidden under it.

For this card I used a journaling card from the vintage glow collection. I folded it in the middle and cut out a circle inside the wreath. So you can see a piece of the photo hidden inside. When I open the card, the entire photo is visible. I glued a bouquet from the vintage glow collection, a label with a phrase and enamel dots to the wreath.

This card with a fox is very beautiful, but how to stick a photo on it so that the fox stays there? I used a scalpel to cut a line around the fox and tucked the photo under it. And again I added a label with a phrase and one clear sticker with a small flower.

I also often used hashtag phrases. I love them so much!

This card is from the vintage glow collection. It is neutral and thus goes well with other cards with a winter theme.

In the middle of my pocket page I kept this beautiful card without a photo. I just completed it with a definition sticker.

I hope you liked my inspiration today and will also try sticking photos on a pocket page. Have a great time and I look forward to seeing you again next time. Don't forget that you can shop in the S40 store with the discount code Mirka10

STAMPING THURSDAY WITH NICOLE

nordica collection

Happy New Year, friends! Nicole here with some pages of an album I'm working on for my sister. She just recently took a trip to Iceland and her pictures were AMAZING!! I just had to make a few pages for her!

I cut the background paper to measure 6x8 and then stamped the words across the top. Next, I grabbed a snow flake stencil and some mixed media medium to create some shimmery snowflakes at the bottom. I love the definition transparent stickers from the Vintage Glow collection. I used some on this spread including the photo corners. Added a chipboard sentiment and heart on the photo to fill in some of the white space.

Here is a closer look at the shimmery snowflakes at the bottom. I LOVE this page so much. It's so perfect with the adorable picture.

I added some sentiments from the Cozy Winter transparent stickers to the ice blocks in the photo for fun. Super cute!

I used a few stickers from Cozy Winter and Definitions to embellish the photos while also keeping the focus on the pictures. I cut fussy cut the ornaments from a journaling card and glued them at the top of the photo.

I used a few of the cards from the Nordica 6 paper to fill in the pockets. The "brrr" clear sticker above the Super Cool stamped image is from the Cozy Winter transparent stickers. LOVE the font of these stickers.

I love stretching my supplies and fussy cutting images to make my pages pop! Also, stamps are great embellishments that can be used over and over again to save money in the long run.

I decided to play with my embossing powder with the stamps to make them shimmer. You can easily use the Alphabet brush letters to do this on your projects.

I used the Nordica 5 patterned paper for this page. I glued some white gems to the center of the snow flakes and added some Frosty Season transparent stickers. I stamped the star from the Days Documented stamp set and used the lines for the journaling spot at the bottom.

And that's the first few pages of my album! I hope I inspired you to go through your stash of papers, embellishments, and stamps to use them in a fun album for a loved one. Hope your new years is off to a great start!
