It's Isa today on the blog and I come with a new project made with Nordica and Cozy Time. Both collections are amazing. I know I always say the same but every time we have a new Studio Forty collection I fell in love even more with all the new things that I get at home! They are all so beautiful!
For today's post I come with a new coptic book. I love making at least one of them with every collection that I have at home. And this time the occasion was very special because I got to use the two collections together.
They combine perfectly well so there was no problem in working with them at the same time. I have combined elements from both collections for the cover of the coptic book and the decorations I have added on the spine of the book. I have used for the covers two pieces of wood that I cut myself. I like making them like these, I find them more original. This time I wanted to play with the holes for the binding, and trying different combinations with them.
I have painted the cover with a color that combined some of the elements of the Cozy Time collection. I have also used the chipboards and the enamels from the collection which are amazing.
On the inside of the book I have used all the papers that belong to both collections and the result is great. The cold and warm colors combined together are perfect harmony.
In the cover I decided to cut some elements from the PL cards and the TN inserts to create my own die cuts and combine them for the cover.
I did the same in the spine, combining beads, chipboards and elements that I cut myself to create new die cuts to add on the spine.
I hope you liked it and I will be back very soon with new projects to show! Take care! Lots of love,
It's Isa today on the blog! How is everyone doing? How are you dealing with this lockdown due to Covid? I hope that everyone is doing fine and that you are safe and healthy.
Today I will present you a new copta book using the new Studio Forty collection, So Romantic. I have to say that it is one of the sweetest and more beautiful collection that I have seen. I am completely in love with the Project Life cards! I totally recommend them!
For this copta book I have used all the papers from the collection to make the inside pages. The size of the book is 3x4 inches so I can make lots of pages from a 12x12 inches paper.
The covers are wood pieces that I have cut and painted myself. I always like to add some white paint spray on the covers to soften the color of the acrylic paint I use in the covers. I have used also details from the papers to decorate the cover and also a chipboard from the So Romantic collection.
Stitching the book I have added some embellishments, beads, details that I have cut from the papers of the collection, buttons and chipboards that are quite small so they fit perfect here on this small book. I always enjoy creating these kind of projects, I love the result and it gives you the chance to store lots and lots of pictures.
As you can see, on the inside pages you can find the patterned papers of the collection So Romantic.
When creating these copta books it is very important to control how you tense the thread when stitching because it can make the book open and not close properly. The more you practice this technique, the better the results will be with time. As a reminder, I made a tutorial a while ago for Studio Forty and you can find it on this blog.
I hope that you liked it, and if you have any questions regarding this project do not hesitate to leave a comment below! See you soon and take care of yourselves and your beloved ones!
It is so good to be back in the Studio Forty blog! Just today I start my holidays and I go on a trip but I couldn't leave without showing you all my new project.
This time I present you today a new coptic binding book made with the "Hello World" collection of Studio Forty. If you don't know how to make a coptic binding book I suggest you check the tutorial I made some time ago here. Some people say that this kind of project is quite difficult to make, but in my case it is one of the most relaxing things that I do when I do scrapbook at home.
What I like most is to hang tons of decorations of from the stitching of the book, I think it is what makes them a beautiful project to make and to fill in with great memories.
In the inside I have used all the papers from the collection but also some white paper to add more pages.
For the outside part I have combined all kind of decorations as well as some die cuts and wood decorations from the "Hello World" collection from Studio Forty.
In the cover I have used some die cuts, stickers and wood decorations from the "Hello World" collection as well. The wood of the cover is painted with acrylic paint and I have added some drops of white paint. I always like to add some drops of paint in all my projects.
You can hang there all the decorations you want. What I try is that all the decorations hanging there always combine with the collecion of papers and with the colors that the papers have.
I hope to fill this book with tons of beautiful summer memories!
I hope that you like the project and that you create beautiful books for your summer memories. If you have any questions do not hesitate to ask! I will be back very soon in the Studio Forty blog with a new inspiration!
It is great to be back to the Studio Forty blog with a new project! In today's post I am going to show you my new coptic book that I have prepared and also a tutorial on how to do it.
For this project I have used the collection DayDream of Studio Forty that has wonderful colors and great drawings. I love the color combination and the patterns of all the papers. To make this kind of project what you need is patterned paper, some wood covers (that I cut and painted previously), some white cardstock and lots of charms to put in the spine while the book is being stitched and a good thread for the stitching.
It is not an easy project, but the results are wonderful and making them kinds of relax me when I am stressed from my daily life. Preparing them is a process that requires some steps and to be careful when doing them.
You can choose to add more or less charms in the spine but for me I think that it is what makes this kind of projects unique. To add decorations that hang there and give these kind of books cheerfulness and volume.
If you do not want to miss how to create them, you can find below the Youtube tutorial I have prepared to do them. I hope you like it:
It is a bit long video but I hope it can help you to create this kind of project and get ideas on how to use the wonderful DayDream collection by Studio Forty.
If you have any questions or comments do not hesitate to leave them in the comments section! I hope to be back soon in the blog with new projects!! Lost of kisses! Isa
